Community is important, and people want to be connected with friends, family, and the places where they work, worship, shop and receive health care. Affordable housing and individualized supports help establish and maintain these connections. Breaking down barriers is why Pioneer Resources exists.

Our mission is to provide support services to people who want to be connected with their community while residing in their own home. Our staff is trained to help individuals meet goals they choose in areas such as personal care, budgeting, transportation and socialization. Below is a list of options offered by Pioneer Resources for supported housing.

Gretchen’s Place Gretchen’s Place

Pioneer Resources’ newest residential program, Gretchen’s Place, is designed to support individuals who need personal care but don’t need to live in a supervised setting. With its unique setting and a focus on independent living, tenants will be excited to learn how to make personal choices and what it’s like to manage and control their own expenses.

Pioneer ArborPioneer Arbour

This sixteen-unit, barrier-free apartment building is designed to allow individuals who are low-income and disabled to live independently. At Pioneer Arbour, rent is subsidized by the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development.

Pioneer HousePioneer House

Pioneer House is a unique and licensed adult foster care home for persons with developmental disabilities. Residents have private rooms, yet a wonderful family atmosphere exists. Pioneer House encourages active involvement in the home and supports involvement of residents in the community.

Plant BuildingThe Plant Building Apartments

The Plant Building offers both subsidized housing and on-site support services. These attractive apartments in downtown Muskegon are affordable and tenants may receive support services to remain independent.

Ross DuplexRoss Duplex

The Ross Duplex is Pioneer Resources’ barrier-free, duplex that offers spacious apartments at an affordable monthly rate. Perfect for those living independently, the Ross Duplex offers additional services based on need and eligibility.
